Chery Automotive is China's largest and most diverse independent vehicle manufacturer. Chery exports to over 80 countries around the world, has 25,000 staff, 5,000 of which are engineers in research and development. When Ateco Automotive decided to launch Chery into the Australian and New Zealand markets, they turned to Fuse Digital. Fuse has developed many successful web projects for Ateco, including the
Great Wall Motors site.
The client brief
Ateco Automotive requested a clean, simple and easy to navigate website that targets young, mostly female audience. The website designed and developed by the Fuse Digital team reflects that target market.
Engaging user interface
A highly engaging and softer user interface was designed and refined. Content is never more than two clicks away. Videos with the latest TV ads are accessible from the home page and support Chery’s offline advertising. Prices are highly visible and brochures in PDF format are available for download.
Smart postcode look-up
The website also incorporates a smart postcode look-up system that finds your nearest Chery dealers. The same system is used in the ‘Book a Test Drive’ section – and email requests are sent straight to the selected dealer. Always thinking of what works better for the client, an easy-to-use system was developed so Chery itself can update the database of dealers.
SEO friendly design
Search engine ranking is also a concern in any project developed by Fuse Digital. On top of standard Search Engine Optimisation techniques, for the Chery website our team also limited the use of Flash to the absolute minimum, using a programming language that is indexable by search engines, lighter, easier to update and iPhone/iPad friendly.
Leveraging client’s profile for adding value
China’s recent emergence as a global automotive power means they have sophisticated facilities equipped with some of the latest technology available in the world today. Chery’s state-of-the-art factory is showcased on the website in images and video to reflect the quality of the product they bring to Australia.
360° and zoomed views
On top of this are 360° views of the exterior and interior of the cars (with ability to zoom in and out), as well as easily accessible colour options, full specifications, images, brochures and prices.
AU and NZ websites integration
Fuse Digital also integrated what could have been two different projects into one single, innovative website. Australian and New Zealand sites are incorporated into one content management system thanks to smart software developed by our team that brings up regional information - such as price and dealers list - according to the site URL (.au or .nz).
The website was successfully completed and launched on-time, on-budget and on-specification in a very tight deadline.
